Epic Adventures

University Cooperative School embraces epic adventures and unforgettable experiences that help children become confident, resilient, and well-rounded explorers. Our Expeditionary Learning Program is more than just an educational experience – it’s a journey of discovery, connection, and growth, fostering essential life skills and an active lifestyle.

We value community and family time in nature, knowing these moments shape a child’s future. Our retreats and adventures are carefully planned to ensure safety while providing enriching activities that challenge and inspire.

Overnight Trips

Our overnight retreats are a treasured cornerstone of the University Cooperative School experience, offering K-5 students and their families the opportunity to connect with nature, learn, build camaraderie, and make cherished memories together. K-2 students have a spring trip near the end of the school year. 3rd-5th grade students have fall and spring trips (our Bike Trip).

Skiing and Snowboarding Program

In Winter, we set off for stunning mountain views and fun with our skiing and snowboarding program. 3rd-5th grade students of all skill levels can hit the slopes, learn new techniques, and enjoy the thrill of winter sports. Students spend time in lessons with experienced instructors and have free time to ski or snowboard with our chaperones and faculty.

Biking Program

Our 3rd-5th grade biking program is a springtime activity. We organize weekly rides culminating with an overnight biking trip at the end of the school year. Our biking program promotes physical fitness, environmental awareness, and a sense of community as students explore different neighborhoods, parks, and landmarks. Our experienced team ensures that every child has a fun and safe experience.

Rites of Passage and Second Grade Trips

We celebrate important milestones with our trips for 2nd and 5th graders. These unique retreats mark significant transitions in our students’ educational journeys, fostering independence, reflection, and personal growth. Second graders embark on a fun trip to celebrate their transition to the 3-5 Pod, while fifth graders enjoy a memorable Rite of Passage island camping trip. These extraordinary bonding experiences create lasting memories for both children and teachers.
