Our Community

We are a dynamic community of educators, children, parents, and caregivers working together to make University Cooperative School go and grow.

At University Cooperative School, talented educators design and teach curriculum, while parents/guardians support the school in myriad other ways. Families reap the benefits of meaningful involvement in their student’s school life and immersion in a wide support network. Children thrive as a result of caring relationships with adults and through exposure to the diverse perspectives and talents in our community.

Building community is central to our school. Social events for families are planned throughout the year to encourage friendships that last long after children graduate.

We are also deeply embedded in our neighborhood community in the North University District. We visit Cowen Park daily for recess, environmental and physical education, and to play in the Extended Day Program. We collaborate with local neighborhood groups on service learning projects and art projects. We garden in the community pea patch, donating our harvest to the local food bank.
